About Neil
For more than 40 years, Neil Miller has worked inside finance teams at organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to law firms, startups, nonprofits, and performing arts organizations. That range of experience is one of the things he enjoys most about his work today. As a fractional CFO and outsourced Controller, Neil steps into different organizations, understands what makes each one tick, and helps business owners and leadership teams make sense of the numbers, calm the chaos, and make better decisions.
Neil brings plenty of experience to the table, but he doesn't believe finance has to feel intimidating—or that every problem needs a 50-page spreadsheet. He enjoys working with people, asking questions, figuring out what's really going on, and finding practical ways to move things forward.
Outside of work, Neil lives in Manhattan with his wife, Sue, and their dog, Hunter. He's a proud dad to Davis and Isabelle and a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan who can turn almost any conversation into an opportunity to talk Phillies, Eagles, or Sixers. He grew up in Philadelphia and still makes time for family visits, cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, and plenty of Philly sports.
Music is another big part of Neil's life. He loves show tunes and contemporary music and is known to get up and sing at piano bars. He's even performed for family, including a memorable rendition of "Moon River" at his niece's wedding. One of his favorite musical projects is singing "Fix You" with his daughter Isabelle accompanying him on guitar.
And then there's the statue.
A few years ago, Neil answered a casting call for a company creating life-size statues for a new Kaiser Permanente facility in Washington, D.C. He submitted his photo and was selected as one of the people representing healthy lifestyle choices—specifically, a guy holding an apple.While visiting colleges in DC, Neil and his son visited the statue to verify its existence.
Neil's career may be rooted in finance, but he has never been one-dimensional. He likes people, variety, a good challenge, good music, and—perhaps most of all—having something interesting to talk about.
